A nice 3D FPS - only 2 hard levels The author (who made the famous Streetfighter games too) was planning to create 3 levels, but he abondoned it after 2 levels. Very pity, because it is such a great game! In fact I don't need the third level because I even could finish the first one. In a great world I had to kill many bad people, by using one of my guns or even by using my fists. I love the big gun with the sniper the most. Catch sight of someone, set the sights and fire! When you killed everyone an alien will appear. An alien, such one as in the movie Predator of Arnold Swarzenegger. A real monster, a super warrior who can make himself invisible... As a player of Well of Souls for nearly 30 months, my review is slightly biased.
Well of Souls is a MMORPG. It has very simple and old graphics, which may not be eye candy to the Everquest players, but allow for easy modification, so you may use your own skins. There is a large community of people who simply play the game and make skins for it. At last check the largest skin collection was around 4,000.
WoS' simplicity also allows for customization at a far greater level: the world. There is an evolving scripting language that is fairly easy to pick up, but also powerful. With it, and a little artistic talent and a lot of free time, you can create your own world: essentially a mod, complete with classes, quests, and graphics.
No need to do that work though, there are plenty of worlds

The makers of really pulled the cat out of the bag with this one. Far from being a typical side-scrolling platformer, this is an isometric, top-down dungeon crawl game. It also has fantastic graphics, isn't confusing and plays really well.
The story is, a magical door arrived at The Hero Academy. The Headmaster, while fiddling with knobs, got sucked into the tenth level of some alternate dimension. It's up to a rag-tag bunch of amateur students to roam the scary halls, battle foes and level up along the way in order to save him (and hopefully receive 'extra credit' ed.)
This game has appealed where other games have not in the past. It tells you clearly when you can end your turn. The characters all look different (and excellent) and where they can travel/attack is clear to be seen. Switching weapons is as simple as one mouse click; not a ten-level deep menu screen.
This game is "OK" but only, "ONLY" because it's free. The graphics are nice, I'll give it that, and you can pickpocket/backstab which is cool, but that's it!
Ok, here are my beefs...
The maps are randomly generated, and this can be good for replayability, but the game uses a lot, I mean A LOT of virtual memory because of this. Not good if you have a small system. I have a good Dell system, Windows XP, 2.40 ghz Celeron processor, 256 ram, 34 gig hard drive and at one point it said my computer was low on virtual memory while playing the game. Crazy!
The game also seems to lag and slow down a lot in areas which makes it very frustrating. Must be the maps being created AS you play. Not a good idea to make a game that way.

Spirit Engine may seem a little infantile at first, but it gets more complex as you advance. You start by selecting the characters which you will play with. The battle system is pretty simple. Your characters can do attack spells, defence spells and recharge. As in many games your characters have 'mana'. Each spell costs 1 or 2 'mana'. The monsters you will encounter get "smarter" as you advance. There are different kinds of monsters. Every one has a weakness and a strength. Example: silver bullet does more damage to large monsters and little damage to little monsters.
The storyline is almost flawless but I will not speak of it, as it would spoil the fun.
The music is nice. Keeping you active in the little boring situations you'll encounter.
If you like side scrollers or if you play games for the storyline then this game will be very good for your health.
I love this game alot. I'm addicted. There are a few things I do not like, though.
First, there is only 2 factions and second there should be a multi-player online mode. I feel the that would tie this game together. The graphics are great even for a freeware game. I dare you to find a freeware game with these graphics. The game is fun, too because you can build a village and then mount, like, one huge attack against your opponent. I personally use the techs but with the magics.
The other game faction, I also enjoy playing because you can summon dragons and if you get, like, 10 you are pretty well invincible. The dragons fly. Also, you can make teams like 2 on 2, or 2 on 1, or even 3 on 1 which I suggest doing when you first start out.
Your resources: you may find a little difficulty gathering but once the game progress it becomes easier.

Студия Valve объявила о завершении первого открытого тестирования мегахитовой игры Counter-Strike Online, поклонники которой живут во все странах мира. Тестирование проводилось в Южной Корее. По информации компании, бета-версию Counter-Strike Online закачало около 170 тысяч жителей этой страны. Следующими странами, жители которых смогут протестировать игру станут Япония, Тайвань и Китай. Дата этого тестирования не сообщается. Как впрочем, и не сообщается том, когда Counter-Strike Online появится в Европе и тем более в России. A very accurate representation of the final battle of the Galactic Civil War. The game starts out simple, just blast the TIE fighters. Then, things get more complicated as you have to take out a Star Destroyer, and TIE Interceptors get into the mix. The cutscenes are very well done, and the lines come straight from the movie (text, no sound clips). The game plays like a simplified version of the X-Wing Academy games, even allowing you to change the laser settings, and even including lock on proton torpedoes. The scaling for the captial ships is flawless, any Star Wars fan will greatly appreciate the accuracy of the fighter to starship size ratio, as the Mon Calmari Cruisers truly do look as though they could hold three dozen fighters, which is something you rarely see in games now days.

In this mini-game (fully titled Jawalker Take Back The Streets) you play as a floating head who goes by the name of Marjorie. This head loves walking around in an intersection, causing cars to swerve around her and crash into junk. What a sweet floating head she is.
So, the idea is: walk in front of cars. Make them avoid you, thereby causing crashes. You get points for making them smash into lamps and signs, as well as the island in the middle of the road. You get more points for crashing cars into other cars, and more again for repeating the process in quick succession.

This game is really nothing special. It's just like playing a really old first person shooter such as Doom or Duke Nukem 3D except with a middle east theme.
There doesn't seem to be any sound either, at least on my machine. I guess if you set your expectations really low you might be able to look past that and get some mild enjoyment out of it.
Personally I was bored of it as soon as I started playing it, but I gave it a chance anyway.
It uses an old commercial game engine from 3D Realms (the one used for Duke Nukem 3D) which is suspecious to say the least. That's probably part of the reason why (actually probably the only reason) you won't find this in many other places on the net.

The Key is an amazing adventure game with a storyline of biblical proportions.
Your planet is under attack and is left defenseless against their enemies. The only way to survive is for you to find the key which will reactivate your planets ancient warships and breathe new life into them. The graphics in the game are quite simplistic but never do they look underdrawn. The ease on the eyes is quite well done as there is no extra information to digest; everything in the game is quite refined to make it as nice as possible to look at.
The music and sounds are quite nice too, adding depth and even a certain kind of respectability to the game. knights got me addicted since I first heard of it and played.
By far, no other freeware game compares. The ability of Teshima in creating the game is nothing short of incredible. The attacks are all in working order, with updates (currently not, but soon.....) and 3 types of mech attacks.
